One Drop Redemption - Tribute To Bob Marley Uniondale Concert reviews
TTB
The One Drop Redemption - Tribute To Bob Marley is arguably the most talented guitarist playing today and Susan Tedeschi’s voice brings dynamic pleasure every performance. The song selection varies each night so seeing multiple nights of the same run is encouraged because of the depth and variety of each show. A solid bass guitarist makes for a driving rhythm section, three excellent horn players who each take a solo, three back-up singers all of whom can take the lead as Mike Mattison frequently does, and a keyboardist who sings and takes the lead vocals on ‘Dreams’, an Allman Bros. cover, and not to overlook Susan’s scorching guitar playing on ‘Pity The Fool.’ The entire band’s talents and offerings never fails to impress. Two outstanding drummers, and the 12 piece band is about as tight and versatile as musicianship gets. Derek Trucks is quite simply the very best live, touring musicians.
A first in this Boston run was Susan accompanied by Gabe on piano covering Joni Mitchell’s ‘The River,’ a Christmas referencing song selection that makes the band’s end of year home coming in Boston all the more poignant. This band is melodious, exciting, and pleasing to watch and listen to. If you don’t leave with a smile and a feel-good inspiration after the generous two-sets and two song encore, including ‘Bound for Glory,’ you missed it. This band has it all and their devoted fans who know it and are right there with them. Their music got me through the pandemic’s drought of live music and they’ve come back stronger than ever. I’ve never been disappointed seeing TTB (about 60 shows over ten years.)
